have little solar product experience but I found the Goal Zero Solar Kit to be a great product for the money. I've used it on 3 hikes to charge my mobile phone, GPS and batteries for flashlights. I like the ability to carry extra rechargeable batteries to use a fuel cells rather then using a bulky charge pack. If you fill the batteries you can just throw in another set and store even more power.

Pros:
7 watt output – providing a quick charge of the power pack

Detachable power pack so you don't need the sun to charge your stuff (but you can if the sun is out)
Enough power to charge iPhones and iPads

Cons:
Nylon fabric body construction – I would prefer a semi-ridged foam shell (or similar) I'm afraid that if it gets wet that it will hold moisture.

Must take 4 batteries at a time (can't just charge 2)
